What is Elevate
To elevate the life skills and abilities of inner city student-athletes in American through mentor-based programs in athletic, academic, and social development.
ELEVATE Leadership Program (ELP) is a free, application-based enrichment program for select 7th-12th grade student athletes. ELEVATE Leadership Program members participate in a daily mix of athletic, academic, and social development activities on an individual and small group basis. The goal for each ELP student-athlete is matriculation at a high-performing four-year university.
HISTORY and VISION
ELEVATE New Orleans, Inc. was originally established as Peace Players International New Orleans in 2008. In 2009, ELEVATE New Orleans, Inc. was formed, with Desire Street Ministries, a 501(c)(3) organization, serving as the organization’s fiscal agent. To date, the organization has sent 17 students to college on full or partial scholarships.
To close the achievement gap by ensuring all of America’s youth have access to highly-effective, nationally-accredited after school and summer developmental programs, free of charge.
